  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk or cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the crisp topping ingredients until crumbly; set aside.
  3. Combine diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon; toss to coat.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla and milk. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients.
  5. Beat cream cheese with sugar, flour, vanilla, and egg until creamy.
  6. Layer half of the batter in the pan, followed by half of the cream cheese mixture and apple mixture. Repeat layers finishing with remaining batter topped with crisp mixture.
  7. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
