  • 225 g granulated sugar
  • 200 g dark brown sugar
  • 225 g sour cream
  • 85 g butter (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 40 g vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  2. For the crumb topping, mix flour, dark brown sugar, and cinnamon in another bowl. Add butter and create a crumbly texture.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Cream room temperature butter and granulated sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients until just combined; fold in apple filling.
  5. Pour half the batter into a greased baking pan; top with half the crumb mixture. Repeat layers and bake for about 70 minutes until golden brown.
