- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt unsalted butter and add chopped apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, water, and salt. Cook until apples soften (about 5–7 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend in cut pieces of butter until crumbly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Press half of the oatmeal mixture into the pan bottom.
- Spread the apple filling evenly over the crust. Sprinkle remaining oatmeal mixture on top.
- Bake for about 50 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling before slicing into bars.
