  • 400g flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 250g egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 cup beef stock or water
  • Chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 10 minutes.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Mix sauce ingredients: soy sauce, hoisin sauce, light brown sugar, rice vinegar, and beef stock or water.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat; sear marinated beef until browned and then remove.
  5. In the same wok, stir-fry garlic, ginger, and broccoli for 2-3 minutes until bright green.
  6. Add back the beef and pour in the sauce; mix well.
  7. Toss in cooked noodles and stir-fry until everything is heated through.
