- 200 g granulated sugar

- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 1.5 teaspoons matcha powder (for matcha flavor)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix well.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla into the butter mixture, then gradually add the flour mixture until just combined.
- Divide the dough into three portions; add cocoa powder to one and matcha powder to another, kneading gently until combined.
- Roll out each portion between parchment paper until about 1/8" thick and chill for 1–2 hours.
- Cut shapes from the chilled dough and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before decorating with melted chocolate or toppings.
