  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 small onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup pasta water (reserved)

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine or spaghetti in boiling salted water until al dente; reserve 1/4 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season sliced chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until browned and cooked through (5-7 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  3. Sauté minced garlic and diced onion in the same skillet until fragrant (2-3 minutes). Return chicken to skillet.
  4. Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, reserved pasta water, and lemon zest in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over chicken while stirring quickly to prevent scrambling. Toss in cooked pasta until well-coated with sauce.
