- 3/8 cup fig jam
- 3/8 cup old-fashioned oats or chopped walnuts
- 8 Tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- Pinch fine sea salt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/3 cups confectioners' sugar
- Ground cinnamon (for sprinkling on top)
- Sliced fresh figs (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
- In one bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until light; add olive oil and sour cream.
- Gently fold in chopped figs and fig jam into the wet mixture.
- Combine dry ingredients gradually until just mixed.
- Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full and sprinkle oats or walnuts on top if desired.
- Bake for about 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean; allow to cool completely before frosting.
