  • ⅔ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups corn syrup (dark preferred)
  • 2 cups roughly chopped pecans
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup cold butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking pan. Line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine 1¾ cups flour and ½ cup granulated sugar, then mix in ¾ cup cold butter until crumbly. Press the mixture into the pan and bake for about 20 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together ⅓ cup flour, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, and corn syrup until smooth.
  4. Let the mixture rest while the crust bakes. Stir in chopped pecans before pouring over the crust.
  5. Bake for an additional 40–50 minutes until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
