  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1 1/2 ounces almond milk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sifted unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 5 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 tablespoons homemade caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a pie pan.
  2. In a bowl, sift together unbleached flour and almond flour; set aside.
  3. Dice two peeled apples into small cubes and slice three peeled apples thinly for the rosette design.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, and organic cane sugar; mix until smooth.
  5. Add melted butter and almond milk to the egg mixture, then gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined.
  6. Stir in spices and baking powder; fold in diced apples carefully.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pie pan and arrange apple slices into a rosette pattern on top.
  8. Melt caramel sauce with salt over low heat, brush over apple slices, and sprinkle lightly with sugar.
