  • 2 lb thinly sliced sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 12 oz frozen broccoli florets

Instructions

  1. Place the thinly sliced beef evenly in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
  3. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir to coat evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat for about 5 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water until smooth and stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  6. Add frozen broccoli florets to the slow cooker and cook for another 30 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot over cooked white rice if desired.
