- 1/2 cup cake flour
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, cold
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/8 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, cream cold butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; blend until combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients followed by chopped chocolate and walnuts until just incorporated.
- Scoop dough into large balls (about 1/2 cup each), placing them on the prepared sheets. Press extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Bake for 12 to 13 minutes or until edges are golden brown but centers remain soft. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
